Getting Started using ScreenParts
After you have downloaded and installed the application you are ready to take
screenshots from selected parts of the screen.
Preparations
Configure the application settings.
Chose the default capture format from the Settings menu: Clipboard and/or Image File
Using the Application
- Start the Application.
- Use the mouse or the keyboard to move and resize the capture form.
- Capture the selected area by pressing the Enter Key or by double clicking the form with the mouse.
Keyboard Controls
Move - 1 pixel
Move the form 1 pixel at a time with the arrow keys on your keyboard.
Move - 10 pixels
Move the form 10 pixels at a time by holding the [Alt] key and navigate with the arrow keys.
Resize - 1 pixel
Resize the form by holding the [Ctrl] key and adjust the size with the arrow keys.
Resize - 10 pixels
Resize the form by holding the [Ctrl] + [Alt] key and adjust the size with the arrow keys.
Capture Selection
Capture the selection by pressing the Enter key.
Capture Screen(s)
Capture the whole screen, or all of the screens if you have multiple monitors by holding the [Ctrl] key and pressing Enter.
Settings Menu
Access the settings menu by holding [Ctrl] and pressing the S key.
Open Capture Directory
Open the Capture Directory by holding [Ctrl] and pressing the D key.
Hide Application
Hide the application by pressing the [ESC] key.
Show Application
Show the application by holding the [Ctrl] + [Alt] key and then press the S key. This keyboard command is also a 'Global Hotkey' command.
Mouse Controls
Move or Resize
Move or resize the form by left-clicking and then either drag or resize it.
Resize - 1 pixel
Resize the form 1 pixel by holding the mouse cursor over the form and then scroll on the mouse wheel.
Resize - 10 pixels
Resize the form 10 pixels by holding the mouse cursor over the form and then hold the Ctrl key while scrolling the mouse wheel.
Capture Selection
Capture the selected area by double clicking on the form.
Show or Hide
Show or hide the form by clicking on the ScreenParts icon in the Notify Area.
Show Menus
Show the application menus by right clicking the form or the ScreenParts icon in the Notify Area.
Quit
Quit ScreenParts from the menu in the Notify Area by right clicking it and choose Quit.
